Forthood, Texas Rampage: A Worshipper’s Hardhearted (environmental news) Attack

By Mick Jackson

”Allahu Akbar!” This was the Arabic phrase, which means “God is great!”, was mentioned by Major Nidal Malik Hasan before firing his gun that killed 13 people and wounded 31 people in Forthood, Texas.

The psychiatrist of the Muslim army was said to attend morning prayers in a local mosque just hours before the bloddy rampage occured. It was reported that Hasan is devoted to his Muslim faith but was anxious by his future deployment to Afghanistan to be part of a war effort he is opposed to partly on religious grounds.

But, Hasan’s real plan for the rampage is still ambiguous while he is still in coma.

The killings was claimed as the most horrendous shooting that happened on United States military base.

Opinion?

So what went bad to the state of mind of Major Hasan that he committed a mass killing? This may be the question that is playing to the minds of many concerned individuals now after the news about the bloddy killings in Forthood, Texas broke out. Is he a real madman? Or was he driven by his Muslim belief?

The fact that Hasan is affiliated to the Muslim religion gave a crucial twist to his case. Everyone knows that religious faith is a topic that will always be controversial, especially if the concerned faith is Muslim. This is the reason why the religious action of Major Hasan like praying in the mosque and shouting “God is great!” before he shooted those people are taken seriously by everyone.

It is possible that Hasan encountered some religious harassment that fueled his rage to do such brutal action, especially that he’s depicted to have a solid devotion to his Muslim faith. However, his religious association might not be the main factor in this story. After he fired his gun for 100 rounds and he killed 13 people and it comprises of an expecting woman and he seriously harmed 31 people, Major Hasan could be claimed to have a problem in his state of mind. And It’s not impossible.

And there may still be other point of views, but as long as Major Hasan remained in coma, the only thing we could do is guess and give opinions. It is definitely not correct to judge or make a conclusion that Major Hasan do such horrendous crime was because of his religious faith.

Checking online news for instant updates

By D Damien

For many people a day is incomplete without reading the newspaper. It is obviously a good habit to keep oneself updated about whats going across the globe. Therefore taking the help of a newspaper is a good option. But at present where internet is ruling, newspaper isnt the best option for getting an update on the world news.

By the time the newspaper reaches the home, often the news takes a different shape. Therefore what people may be reading might not be fresh news. A little advanced than the newspaper are the local news channels that continuously flash the current event and breaking news. But with unlimited breaks they give the news in bits and pieces which many times displeases the viewers.

Just turning the pages to go on with the continuity of news or constantly changing the news channel to get the full story of the breaking news is no more regarded as a relevant news source.

People are migrating to the easier and faster methods of mass media these days. They have started looking for the world news online. With internet connection becoming common practice these days, the purchase of newspapers has completely stopped in many houses. To get any kind of European news, Middle Eastern news or African news, just with a click of a mouse an individual can get the instant news easily.

While going through a newspaper or a channel, people often waste their time in some unnecessary articles and news, but this can be avoided if the news source is online. The news printed on the newspaper has often proved to be biased representing the thought of the reporter, analyst or the presenter, while reading news online is just based upon the true facts that happened at the incident site.

Many newspapers and local news channels are often politically inclined and therefore transmit the good things while hiding the adverse effects. But a suitable online news site would never represent itself in such a way. The primary purpose of a newspaper is to serve the nation with the true facts but in this current scenario people read less news and more advertisements. Thus becoming commercial based the popularity of the newspapers has gone down drastically. With greed to add more revenue through the advertisements, the newspaper agencies are doing a lot of harm to themselves.

If there has been a terrorist attack or a tragedy, the maximum current happenings is covered by the online news source. They provide the current news instantly and spontaneously. The news appearing on the online sites can be customized to view the events of ones city or country only. Any event that people want to enjoy live without any commercial interruption can be viewed through the online world news sites. Hence in the present day where people have very less time for themselves, a quick recap through the online news sites truly helps to keep them updated.

Email Marketing Tactics and Strategy

By John Bond

Email Marketing has come a long way since its inception and has been on the rise since online marketings advent. Marketers can no longer disregard the power and cost-saving effectiveness email marketing can bring about in any business.

However, a well planned email marketing campaign is necessary to obtain more customers and retain existing ones. People nowadays get more cautious when it comes to opening unidentified emails. Thats a good reason why your business needs to determine the difference between spam and accurate email marketing. Spam is a disrespectful approach in promoting your business and email clients usually has a feature that prevents spam mails from getting into the inbox.

Use opt-in emails instead of using unsolicited emails. Not only is it permission-based but it produces a higher response rate. Emails have to be effective when its being used to promoting business to prospective customers.

The headline or subject of an email campaign is as important as the content. The headline must put interest to readers for the email itself to be read and explored. Also, an option to unsubscribe should always be available in your email because some readers tend to suspect the email messages as spam if this feature is not available & they cannot be removed from the list. These are just some strategies you should do in order to promote your business effectively through email.

New developments in Email Marketing Systems has streamlined and automated the whole process and included features like survey & feedback forms that provide valuable information about your customers and your business as a whole.

In addition to that, there are some email marketing tactics that will most likely gain even more loyal customers for your online business. They are:

* Intergrate email with social media. This includes the use of social profiles like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc. You can use a blog to highlight your emails content and offer email subscribers with personalised options like receiving monthly newsletter or RSS feed with daily news.

* Build your database by offering special deals only to subscribers. Provide great, informative content to keep the subscribers interested dont do the hard sell as this will only turn subscribers away. Rather, provide a Product of the Month at a great price to entice customers to either purchase now or remain subscribed for future great specials.

* Personalise your Subject line with the subscribers name. Most email marketing systems can do this automatically. This will ensure a higher open rate. You should also specify the person or business sending the email, either in the email from box or the subject line.

* Execute a SPAM check to minimise Spammy words thus ensuring a higher delivery rate to your subscribers inbox.

* Re-engage sleeping subscribers & customers. To re-engage inactive subscribers, you can offer a free trial of the product or service to entice them back to your business and create a sense of urgency by limiting your offer.

* Creating viral campaigns. Viral marketing isnt something of a new concept but with sites such as Twitter, Flickr, Digg, and Facebook, your email will be extended to an even greater audience.

* Optimise landing pages. Email marketers can more easily perfect landing pages to maximise conversions with the advancing marketing automation technology. Many email marketing tools now offer optimising capabilities to let marketers test multiple page variations and keep close watch on the performance of each. Testing and optimisation can easily yield 5-10% lift in conversion rates.

* Having good analytical reporting features will also help you determine the effectiveness of your campaign detailing open rates, forward rates, click thru rates and much more. A system that automatically manages unsubscribing customers and bounced emails is a must. One like VMA Emailer offers all the above features and is a good start for your email campaign.

Now you know which tactics improve the bottom line in email marketing. Start incorporating these ideas into your marketing and youll be amazed at the results it will bring.
