Newspapers Don’t Deliver News, On- Line Resources Do. (daily news)

 There is a “buzz” in the country that is bigger than the Tea Bag movement suggesting that “something” is coming. People are noticeably aware that our nation is coming apart in a variety of different directions, but while we know something is going on, it remains difficult to pin down what is happening. All of a sudden, the country loses 700 billion dollars through mega banks and giant insurance corporations making “bad decisions.” After spending half a billion There is a “buzz” in the air that positively is not restricted to the Tea dollars a day in a war against a country that did nothing to us, we are astonished that the federal budget is so badly in debt. Add to this that our civil rights, once guaranteed by the constitution are now only part of our memory. But little of that is part of the latest news delivered daily to us by the enormous media organizations.

There is a complete and total disconnect from the major news media. Resources we once could have faith in to deliver relevant, breaking news are no longer delivering anything pertinent. While millions of American’s are literally on the streets, the news media marches on as if nothing was amiss at all. Today’s headline on MSNBC is. “Tempers flare at Obama’s health care summit” CBS: “President Obama hosts bipartisan health care summit with members of Congress” followed by “Tilikum Trainer Had to be Pulled From Jaws” referring to a whale trainer at Sea World., and Fox leads with “Friend or Foe? a Closer Look at Wild Animal Encounters.”

That list could go on forever, but the point is, what value is there to your life with that baloney? If you think about it, this is almost as of no use as the tabloids found at the supermarket checkout stand, only not as entertaining. Between the worthless noise of the major media, the newly discovered prophecies of Nostradamus, and “they’re coming to take our guns,” there are real, helpful, enlightening news stories. Information that might help give details where we, as a country, really are in any one of a hundred categories, what recently happened or might be coming that is good, bad or worth watching. Additionally, there are considerable numbers of real stories that offer hope, promise, or are filled with gallantry and courage.

Why is real news critical to you? Let’s list a few really significant reasons:

1 Some news that fails to make headlines are about product recalls. One drug manufacturer dragged their feet for over a year in recalling over the counter medications that were making people sick. Your health and the health of your family and friends is probably the most significant part of life. Avoiding those products would be necessary but big media didn’t advise you.

2. Do you know what the new rules are for the credit card companies? What if you learned that they have almost not changed and your rates can go up for using the card too much, or not enough, and there could be a charge for not using it at all. Not knowing that will possibly cost you money that would be better used for something constructive.

3. Before you make a assessment on the current health bill dispute, shouldn’t you know what it actually says? Will there be “death panels?” Aren’t insurance companies who turn you down for a life saving procedure a death panel? Learning the actual debate instead of the hysterical noise should be a great place to invest some time.

4. There is no question that sad as it is, the decisions made in congress continue to go to the highest corporate bidder, and the latest Supreme Court ruling will make that problem worse. But, elected officials answer to the voters and if you write your opinion to them they actually do listen. But your letters or calls won’t be taken seriously unless you show an in depth comprehension of the subject.

5. Would you have a different view about our economy if you learned that the Federal Reserve is not part of the government but rather a privately owned bank? The “news” that Fed Chairman Bernanke might not be reappointed was rubbish, because it is an unnecessary formality.

Tracking down news outlets that deliver honest, useful and crucial information can be difficult and is often found at surprising web-sites.
