(Science news) Fake news always sells like a hot cake

 What is the power of a rumor? Ask any celebrity and you will get your answer. As a matter of fact, sometimes rumors appear to be more romantic than the real news. Someone just sparks the word rumor and there are is a list of journalists and photographers trying to unravel the truth in their own manner. In the process of trying to know the truth, they just happen to create news very different from the reality all by themselves. The latest rumor in the town always captures more attention from the people around then the reality.

But did you ever think of why and how these fake rumors spread like a wildfire? The fact remains that people don’t care if the news is true or fake they just take interest and enjoy the gossip for hours together. Once people get to know about something that is very different and interesting, the next thing they do is to call a friend and let them know about the same news. Hence even before it is confirmed whether the news is a reality or a fake it is spread to nearly the whole town or city. But where do these rumors generate from?

Generally there is nothing ethical about the rumors. Some of them are made up by the people while some are a simple exaggeration of a minor news. Basically speaking the rumors can be categorized into three types which are as follows.

1 True rumors: This news is real in nature but the fact remains that they are published as a rumor and is believed as a rumor amongst people. There might be evidence for this news but is exaggerated by the crowd.

2 Simply rumors: This category is for the news which is simply fake and without evidence. They are created without any base and are harmful to the people. They are the most common type of rumors that are seen and heard by us.

3 Publicity rumors: This is the most unique type of rumor which is created by the celebrities themselves especially to get more publicity and unnecessary attention of the people. They pay high price to the newspapers and the journalists to write about them just to gain the attention.

Every week, there is a list of fake news being published just for an advertisement. One of the main sources of such fake news is that of

fake newspaper. Thus the next time you get to hear something interesting, enjoy its spices.
